Pink Ruby with gradient stamping to rid me of my cold
I have many posts waiting in my drafts, but I decided to post this one today since I finished it a little while ago. I really needed a little pick-me-up cause I've had the most annoying cold for the past few days.
The base colour is from a Bulgarian company. I've noticed there are a lot of cosmetics around coming from Bulgaria lately, most of them are pretty inexpensive, too. This could be a fledling trend, who knows. Anyway, Brooklin - 9* is a beautiful metallic pink ruby colour that applied beautifully and was opaque in 2 layers.
On top of it I did a gradient stamp with Her Rose Adagio and Fated Prince by A-England* using the Drikk DRK-B plate. This was a little bit more challenging than the gradient stamping I had done before since so far I had only done a gradient using similar colours and tones.
My mani-cure (I am really not well, I am making terrible puns!) is not bringing my voice back, but at least I can stare at my pretty bejewelled nails now. On to some soup and a few episodes of 'Bob's Burgers'.

Nails Inc - Covent Garden Ballet and Black Roses
A manicure I did on a friend of mine and liked it so much I did it on myself, too. The sunshine is perfect to show off the pink-bronze shimmer in Nails Inc's Covent Garden Ballet. The black is Le Chat CM nail art - Black and the plate is Dkr-B.

Tangerine, flowers, fun and a personal challenge!
It's been such a crazy time! A million things happened at once which is why I've been absent for so long. I am currently not in the UK, but in Greece visiting my family and checking out all the amazing new cosmetic products that have become available since I was here last. I know we are in the middle of a recession, but the Greek cosmetic companies seem to be blooming and I am so glad. You will be reading more on this as I review the products, before that though there's some things I need to get done.
Over the course of this year I've left so many manicures, comparisons and reviews unpublished. Additionally, my skills in doing my nails have developed quite a bit since I first started and anything I don't publish within a a month looks so bad to me after a while that I don't want to publish it. I've set myself a challenge: to publish all the neglected drafts I have by the time this blog turns 1 in a few days. It's a difficult challenge given that I blog in two languages (twice the fun!) and have very little time to do it at the minute, but difficulties make a challenge more interesting. Here it goes then!
Tangerine is such a fun colour! I'm glad it was this summer's colour. It's one of the very few shades of orange I like on me. This is a manicure I did a while ago using the polish I had mixed as a base, Miss Sporty - 455 for stamping and plates Dkr-b (floral deign) & Bundle Monster bm 201(stripes).

Lazy Days of Summer Challenge Day 1: Beach Theme
I decided to be a bit more social with my blog and what better way is there than to enter a challenge? I asked Karine [check her blog out if you haven't, it's great and she's such a lovely person!] a while ago about this and she introduced me to the 'Lazy Days of Summer Challenge'. Now this challenge couldn't be more different from what this summer has been so far and will probably continue to be: wet and busy.
Here is my entry for the beach theme. I had waves crushing on a sandy beach in mind when I did this. I used Olay - 685 Eternal Gold, a beige with gold that is just like a sandy beach under the sun, as a base. Then I used a combination of dark and light blue chrome polish (Stargazer 233 and 236) and Drikk Drk-B plate for stamping. I really like how it came out.

Orly - Nite Owl and Drikk Dkr-B
The Dkr-B plate has finally been released! I was so looking forward to it as I loved the designs from the previews we were getting from time to time. I orderd my plate from Ninja Polish and I have to say I was amazed with their service since it got from the US to the UK in 3 working days. Excellent service!
For this I used Orly's Nite Owl as a base and stamped it using my old faithful, Stargazer 232. It's funny how it looks like it has an almost blue hue compared to the warm silver shimmer of Nite Owl. On the nail it looked more silver and made the shimmer look a bit goldish. For the owl I used my other old faithful Le Chat CM nail art 04 Brown with some details using Stargazer 233, a chrome blue.
